Last weekend we took the world into our heads (read the photo-video equipment, a basket full of goodies, some luggage), got into the car rented from Elite Cars and ran to the mountains, to Marișel for a few days together. Let's call it teambuilding, although it's hard for us to stop what we're doing - even for a weekend. They are our team and part of everything we do here online - wherever "here online" means these days because it seems to me that there are far too many branches on this tree. They come with us everywhere and come with ideas. It is not for nothing that they say that teamwork brings the greatest satisfaction, because when you see how people work together, each on what they know best, for a final result, the journey cannot be anything but emotion.

And this time we were leaving for the cabin with a purpose, namely to film a new short film for Netflix, which you will soon see on YouTube. There is no point in telling you how much I love the idea of ​​working with Netflix, considering first of all the fact that I am a declared fan, I open and close the day with them, on the projector... but also the fact that I have seen the whole story of Dracula and I like to express myself on video for a long time. Much more than in writing perhaps (although it remains my first love).

We are in a new decade and facing 10 years that will bring countless changes for everything online, our behavior as users, the importance of technology in our lives, the interaction between us. So we thought of celebrating the decade in the mountains, without a signal, for old times' sake.

Arriving at the cabin, you discover all kinds of good things to post on @retrofuturebabe, (where I hope you follow us): video tapes, skis, other people's gloves that are always there ready for winter, a game of scrabble, rummy, activity... cds and old books, soft white towels, the smell of fire in the fireplace, the morning coffee and the neplisit "let's go outside and smoke a cigarette" (I'm sure you know the answer from TikTok) fresh and sharp, silvery mountain air. These are all memories somehow... ah - and the dice, I forgot about the dice. I was so nostalgic when I saw them: two dice what seemed new , in a woven basket. I'm not struggling to understand, I've seen them all before. Only at other cabins. We are still the generation that went from the 30 position film camera to the 500 mega iPhone or whatever, to infinite pictures, that is. We are still picture or it didn't happen, this time for the memories.

I left my phone behind on a couch and only moved the device over the weekend, which I thought was welcome, it seems even more welcome after the experience with Asia Express where I stayed without my phone (no problems) with the months. We had such a good time at this cottage - there's no need to explain. A good idea when it comes to cabins in Romania is, I think, to search on airbnb for various super cool locations, hidden in the mountain breeze, all cabin type, not necessarily guesthouses.

This cabin belongs to a friend, Mihai, and is located in the Mărișel area, close to Cluj Napoca. It has a lot of rooms, a fireplace, three bathrooms and others, being the ideal place for a group of 10-12 people. We left for Marisel thinking about the frames for the second project related to Dracula/Netflix. I don't know if you remember, but at one point I took a picture with Nutakiki in a forest, in the winter... well, there I needed a frame and that's where it all started.

Winter at the cabin is magical here as it is elsewhere, but this weekend was magical for us. We worked, relaxed, laughed, played new and old games, cleaned side by side when needed. This is what a team does.
